Castle Wars

Fight for king and country in a war against the other team which preferably should consist of both players and non-player characters. You can also spawn in your own guards who will help fighting the other team. Castle Wars is supposed to be an intense battle with lots of fighting and there’s just one way it’ll end. Either you will win or you will die trying.

This map can be played in singleplayer or multiplayer and you will decide this by pressing one of the buttons in the beginning of the map.

The guards of both teams will automatically start attacking on another. They are friendly toward players.

There are two ways to win a round. Either you can steal the other team’s mascot and bring it back your castle and announce it in the chat or you can kill everyone of the opposite team.

SpawnEgg House

This map contains a very special item which lets you spawn structures in Minecraft. It’s something I have never seen done before (with no mods) and I am not entirely sure how the creator made this possible. Hopefully we’ll get an explanation from him soon, but if not, please investigate and share your knowledge about it in the comments section. It will blow your mind! Edit: Ok, people looks to have found out how to do it in the comments.

Open the chest at spawn and take one of the spawn eggs.

Find the area where you want to spawn the house. I recommend using a flat area like this one. “Roulette” is a really good seed if you are looking for a flat world terrain.

Use the spawn egg to spawn the house. It works just the same way as spawning a mob, except that it will be spawning a structure.

You can even enter the house and inside you will find things such as an anvil and chests with items.

NukeTown

This map is based on Nuketown which is a popular map in Call of Duty: Black Ops. It has been designed to provide a great battle arena for close range battles. Weapons such as the bow have new textures and sounds to make it similar to a modern assault rifle. The map is recommended for multiplayer, but you can also spawn in custom mobs (such as NT Robots) to fight.

There aren’t any specific guidelines for playing this map but I recommend that you play it with other players. You can also spawn in mobs, such as NT Robots (husks) and fight against them in single player mode. Here is a list of changes.

10 Command Block Creations

This map is a great showcase for things you can create with the /execute command and command blocks. By playing this map you will be able to learn things such as how to turn the bow into a grappling hook or how you can use a spawn egg to generate a structure. All of these creations include great knowledge for anyone who want to improve on their building skills!

Let’s have a look at a few of the different creations in the map. My personal favorite is the grappling hook. Before you can use it you need to set the command block to “repeat”. Then when you fire an arrow you will follow (or teleport along) the exact path of the arrow.

This creation is similar to the SpawnEgg House. The difference here is that you will be able to learn how it’s done.

Create your own customized potion bottles!

The infinite railway takes you on a ride which literally could last forever (or until we are wiped out by a comet or any other bad incident which could happen if you take infinity into account).

More TNT

This is a really cool redstone creation which adds 9 spawn eggs which for the most part spawns some type of destruction. Double TNTs, Nuke and even Lightning Bolt are some of the dangers you will be able to spawn by using the spawn eggs. This map is primarily meant as inspiration for ideas which you can implement in your own maps you are building.

You can obtain the spawn eggs from the chest at spawn. If you break through the glass you can examine the different command blocks to get a better idea how things are connected.

By using a spawn egg you will be able to create all kinds of explosions. Here’s a double TNT explosion which was caused by the pig spawn egg. Remember to stay within a fairly close proximity of the command blocks, otherwise it might not work.

The Nuke is the most destructive explosion. It might lag your device so use cautiously.

Another cool item is the Thunder Bolt item which you can use to spawn thunder.

And yet another nifty item is the Clear Lag item which will kill all entities within a certain radius.

The Evil Z-cientist

The Evil Zombie Scientist is the cause of a horrible scientific experiment where he kidnaps villagers and then tries to transform them into zombie villagers. It’s clearly the work for a madman who needs to be removed from his position of power and preferably killed. Too many have already died and it is up to you to escape his wrath and hopefully deal with him in the process.

It’s a fairly short adventure map but nonetheless pretty cool and it uses several new features which was introduced in version 1.0.5 of Minecraft PE. As a result, you’ll need that version to play this map.

Ekza’s Terrain Overhaul

This is a custom world terrain which took the creator (Ekza) over two months to build and in it are most of the Minecraft biomes. Everything in the map has been handcrafted and as a result most of the terrain looks very natural. There are a few downsides and those are that it’s built in a flat world and that the ocean floor is limited to 2 blocks high.

You are allowed to use the world for building an adventure, creation, minigame or any other type of maps. The only thing he asks is that if you are making a video on the creation then please credit the creator (Ekza).

The Dropper (Remastered)

The Dropper is one of the most popular maps for Minecraft. There are 11 different levels and the only objective is to survive the fall. This is a remastered version which includes command blocks and as a result it’s only available for version 1.0.5 (or higher) for Minecraft Pocket Edition. As a whole, it’s a really well designed map definitely worth of playing!

It’s pretty simple. All you’ve got to do is to jump off the ledge and survive the fall. At the bottom of each level there is a small patch of water and that’s where you need to land. Down there you’ll find a button which when pressed will teleport you to the next level.

There are a whole bunch of different levels and all of them are awesome in their own way. For example, in one level (like the one above) you need to fall into a toilet and in another you’ll fall through a dense forest.

De_Dust (CS:GO)

This is a replica of de_dust which is a map in Counter Strike: Global Offence (CS:GO). Since it’s a player versus player map it’s highly recommended to be played by at least two players but preferably more. Command blocks are used for teleportation inside the map and for things at the shop. It’s a really well designed map with lots of cool details.

Choose a team and then walk through the (waterfall) portal to teleport to your HQ. There you can either go directly into battle or go to the shop.

You probably want to go to the shop first as you will need a weapon when fighting. At this moment there you can only choose the AWP (bow) but hopefully more weapons will be added in the future. You can also get a golden apple.

There’s a gun range at the shop where you can do some practice shooting at targets.

Once everyone are ready then press the Play button to teleport to the map arena. You need to decide on the rules yourself. E.g., when players are supposed to start and so on.

The map is super detailed and it’s very likely that you’ll recognize the map if you’ve played Counter-Strike in the past.

Important: This map requires alpha version 1.0.5 for Minecraft Pocket Edition. Android users can sign up for the alpha here!

6 Command Block Creations

This map features six different command block creations which for the most part are quite simple to create but can be extremely beneficial for builders. It’s a great showcase map since it gives you a great overlook of the actual redstone and command blocks which are involved in making these processes happen.

Moving Platform: This particular creation is a great addition to parkour maps and similar types of jumping challenges in maps. Even dropper and elytra maps could make great use of it.

Countdown: If there’s one thing which usually is missing in maps then there’s a countdown. This simple creation fixes that issue.

Custom Mobs: Customize the looks for mobs in-game.

There are one more creation which you’ll find in-game but that one I’ll let you explore on your own!
